Koyuk Youth Energy Project
Youth in Koyuk are harnessing the wind as a clean, less expensive, and renewable energy source to help lessen their community’s dependence on fossil fuels. They have investigated wind turbine designs, and wrote a funding proposal to purchase and install a turbine which will supply power to Koyuk Malimiut School. In addition, the students have constructed stained glass panels that will be part of a moving wind-powered sculpture installed on the school playground!
